WHO WE ARE
OUR HISTORY
In the heart of the Colombian Amazon, where the rivers meet and the jungle becomes dense, Pinta Yagé Kamentsa was born. Their ancestors, the Kamentsa, have inhabited these lands since time immemorial, living in harmony with nature.
Oral tradition tells us that our ancestors discovered Yagé, a sacred plant that allowed them to communicate with spirits and access profound knowledge. Yagé became a central element of their culture, used in ceremonies and rituals to heal, protect, and guide our community.
As time passed, our connection with nature and Yagé deepened. Our healers and shamans developed a profound understanding of the medicinal properties of plants and their ability to transform and heal..
In the 1990s, Taita Juan Martin Jamioy received a vision that guided him to share Yagé and our tradition with the world. This is how Pinta Yagé Kamentsa was born, a community that seeks to unite those who are looking for a deeper connection with nature and their own being.
Today, Pinta Yagé Kamentsa is a global network of communities and facilitators who honor the ancestral wisdom of Amazonian master plants. Our mission is to preserve and share our tradition, promoting healing, personal growth, and spiritual transformation.
Our story is a narrative of connection, respect, and reciprocity with nature and our roots. We are guardians of tradition and pioneers in the integration of ancestral medicine with modernity.

VISION AND VALUES
Our vision is to be leaders in promoting inner evolution and transformation, inspiring individuals and communities to live in harmony with nature and their own being. We aim to be recognized for our integrity, respect, and commitment to the conservation and well-being of all forms of life.

Taita Juan Jamioy, originally from Sibundoy, Colombia, is a shaman of the Kamentsa Biyá tribe, known for its rich healing tradition. From a young age, he was introduced to Yagé, an ancestral practice of his community. At the age of 8, he had a miraculous experience when he was rescued from the Putumayo River, marking the beginning of his spiritual journey and his destiny as a man of knowledge.
At the age of 20, Taita Juan was already preparing his own Yagé and fully committed to his shamanic vocation. His training led him to find a wise elder in the jungle, who taught him the secrets of Amazonian shamanism. From there, he began to welcome people seeking healing and guidance, sharing his wisdom with humility.
The path of Yagé also led him to indigenous leadership. As a representative of his people in the ONIC, he defended traditional medicine and indigenous culture. His work took him to Bogotá, where he shared his knowledge in an urban context, creating a space for ancestral medicine in modern society..
In 2014, Taita Juan founded Healing Therapy in Europe, where he offers courses and seminars in several countries. His international work began with an invitation to Barcelona, where he shared his medicine with Europeans for the first time. Additionally, from Pinta Yagé, projects are supported to strengthen the Kamentsa community and promote reciprocity with their territory.
